Global Metal Net_Japan Furukawa New Steel Roll Processing Center in Thailand

On February 24, Furukawa-Sky announced that its new aluminum coil processing center outside Bangkok, Thailand, has started construction on February 4th.

This project is wholly-owned by Furukawa Sky, with a total investment of 160 million baht (480 million yen) and is expected to be put into operation by the end of this year. It mainly produces automotive radiators to meet the growing demand for automobiles in Southeast Asia and India.

At the initial stage of production, aluminum coils will be shipped from the joint ventures in Japan and China to the coil center in Thailand for further processing. Furukawa Sky plans to expand its plant functions in the future to produce a variety of products to meet customer needs. It is expected that monthly production will reach 300 tons in 2013.
