FORMULACTION of France cooperated with Octel of the United Kingdom and recently developed a rapid analyzer for heavy oil stability, which is fully compliant with ASTM D7061-04. The new analyzer can complete the determination of asphaltene stability in heavy oil within 15 minutes, and has the characteristics of accurate measurement and high repeatability. The experimental data measured by the analyzer can be quantified into the precipitation ability of asphaltenes in heavy oil, and the amount of additives required to optimize the stability of heavy oil can be accurately calculated.
It is understood that the asphaltene contained in heavy oil is a heavy hydrocarbon fuel mixture. Due to the different nature of the solvent used, it is easy to cause precipitation, thereby blocking pipes, filters, combustion injectors and the like. Therefore, production stations, refineries, and heavy oil users need to constantly test the stability of heavy oil in order to improve production processes and improve production efficiency. In addition, the heavy oil stability rapid analyzer can perform the emulsification operation of the water-in-oil emulsion during the oil recovery process, test the stability of the drilling fluid and monitor and test the stability or instability of the dispersion system.
