Renewable Resources Alliance Researches Progress in R&D of Aluminum Ash Resources Utilization in Nantong University

On the morning of December 7th, Li Shilong, Chairman of China Strategic Alliance for Renewable Resources Industry Technology Innovation, and Secretary General Shang Huiliang were accompanied by Professor Ni Hongjun, Director of the Regenerative Resources Alliance and Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering of Nantong University, and they specially investigated the members of the Renewable Resources Alliance. Prof. Ni Hongjun reported the progress of research on nitrogen removal mechanism of aluminum ash slag, nitrogen removal device, preparation of unburned brick from aluminum ash slag, water purifying agent, and coating materials. Three sets of nitrogen removal equipment were designed in the nitrogen removal direction of aluminum ash slag, and four related invention patents were applied; in the preparation of unburned bricks for aluminum ash slag, the strength grade of unburned bricks complied with the “non-sintered waste tailings brick” ( JCT 422-2007) "Concrete Pavement Tiles" (JCT 446-2000) and other standard requirements, applied for nine invention patents; in the direction of aluminum ash residue preparation of water purifiers, the waste acid produced by the surrounding chemical plants in Nantong as raw materials, The purified water purifying agent was returned to the wastewater treatment plant of chemical plants, achieving the goal of “disposal of waste by waste”, and applied for four invention patents; in the direction of preparation of coating materials for aluminum ash slag, aluminum ash was used as the coating material for the first time. Layers, used for repairing and strengthening metal matrix materials, applied for 3 patents; based on the concept of “harmless and resourceful”, they applied for five patents for the innocent use of aluminum ash residues.

Afterwards, the research team visited the experimental equipment and research results of the "Laboratory for Non-hazardous Treatment and Comprehensive Utilization of Aluminum Ashes." Chairman Li Shilong highly affirmed the technical research achievements made by Nantong University and put forward specific requirements for the development and industrialization of key technologies for the harmless utilization of aluminum ash residues in the next phase. He pointed out that the full and reasonable use of aluminum ash slag has important practical significance for improving the economic efficiency of enterprises and protecting the ecological environment. In the face of the large amount of aluminum ash produced each year, the harmless utilization of aluminum ash slag is a recycling industry in China. Academic responsibility is an unshirkable responsibility. He suggested making full use of China's renewable energy industry technology innovation strategic alliance platform to further consolidate the foundation of cooperation between universities, research institutes, and key enterprises in production, education and research, strengthen independent innovation, and use basic theories and major common key technologies from harmless utilization of aluminum ash residues. R & D, industrialization and application demonstration for full-chain innovation design, technical and economic feasibility analysis of new technologies, and proposals for the harmless treatment of aluminum ash residues suitable for China's national conditions, for the healthy and sustainable development of China's aluminum industry Contribute.
