Mechanical Body

The mechanical body is the physical structure of a mechatronic system, including components such as frames, linkages, and transmission mechanisms. It serves as the foundation for integrating mechanical and electronic systems, providing support for other functional units and enabling the transfer of motion and power. Compared to traditional mechanical systems, mechatronics offers improved performance, greater functionality, and better adaptability. This requires the mechanical body to be versatile, reliable, energy-efficient, compact, lightweight, and aesthetically designed. The integration of advanced materials, precision manufacturing, and smart design plays a crucial role in achieving these goals.

2. Sensing and Detection System

The sensing and detection part consists of various sensors and associated signal processing circuits. Its main purpose is to monitor changes in environmental parameters and external conditions during system operation. These sensors collect real-time data and send it to the electronic control unit, which then processes the information and issues appropriate commands to the actuators. This feedback loop ensures that the system operates efficiently and responds accurately to changing conditions.

3. Electronic Control Unit

The electronic control unit, often referred to as the "brain" of the system, is responsible for processing sensor inputs and issuing control signals to the actuators. It coordinates the entire operation of the mechatronic system, ensuring that all components work together in harmony. Modern control units are typically based on microprocessors or programmable logic controllers (PLCs), allowing for precise and flexible control strategies.

4. Actuators

Actuators are the components that convert control signals into physical movement, driving the mechanical parts of the system. They can be powered by electricity, air pressure, or hydraulic force, depending on the application. Electric actuators are the most common due to their high precision and ease of integration with digital control systems. Pneumatic and hydraulic actuators are preferred in applications requiring high force or speed.

5. Power Supply

The power supply is the energy source that provides the necessary electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic power to operate the mechatronic system. It ensures that all components receive the required energy to function properly according to the system’s control requirements. While electrical power is the most widely used, other forms of energy may be employed based on specific needs, such as in industrial or mobile applications. A stable and efficient power supply is essential for the reliable operation of any mechatronic device.
