If every public rental bicycle is equipped with a smart car lock, through GPS positioning and IoT connection, the user can click on the mobile phone screen to find the nearest vehicle at any time. After using it, it is not afraid to lose the parking lock. Convenient for a lot? Twenty-six students, such as Zhu Yicheng, a 2013 undergraduate in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University, developed a set of smart car locks and mobile phone software. Their research and development results won a special award this year in the school's "Challenge Cup" student extracurricular academic and scientific works competition.

The car rented out in the rain is cumbersome

Zhu Yicheng is a native of Wuhan, Hubei. Every winter and summer vacation, Zhu Yicheng returns home, goes out to meet friends, and often chooses to ride a public rental bicycle. However, during the use, Zhu Yicheng also has troubles. Every time he has to go to the designated place to rent a car, many public rental bicycles are not self-contained. With a car lock, you can't park anywhere. The most embarrassing thing was that he rented a public rental bicycle, and the rainy Jiangcheng suddenly thundered and thundered. The bicycle couldn't ride, and he quickly found a subway station, ready to transfer to rail transit.

However, the problem followed, there was no return point near the subway station, and the car did not have a lock installed, and there was no way to stop. In desperation, he had to rain and continue to inquire while riding, find the place to return to the car and then transfer to other means of transportation, it should have been the most convenient public rental bicycle this time to become a cumbersome travel.

In addition, he also found that not only the people have a lot of disappointment about riding public rental bicycles, but also the operators of public rental bicycles have troubles: the location and condition of the vehicles cannot be accurately judged, the maintenance is difficult to keep up with, and the loss rate remains high.

If a public car lock is placed on these public rental bicycles, the citizens can borrow the car at any time and the operator can monitor the position of each car in real time, which is convenient for the public to use and helps the operator. management. At the same time, the promotion of urban public rental bicycles can reduce the occupancy rate of urban bicycles. This shared economic model can effectively improve the efficiency of urban bicycle use. After some discussion, six Tsinghua students formed a team, determined to overcome this problem.

Positioning anti-theft multi-function set in one

Zhu Yicheng said that in their vision, the core of solving this problem is to equip each bicycle with a dedicated smart car lock. Based on the Internet of Things made up of smart car locks, intelligent rental of public rental bicycles can be realized, making public rental bicycles that have been inconvenient in the past more “intimate”. The smart car lock should have the functions of car lock position, GSM network communication, theft identification and alarm, button unlocking, and realize the human-computer interaction between the intelligent terminal and the user through the mobile phone APP.

But to actually implement these features is not an easy task. A ring car lock is less than 20 cm in diameter and no more than 3 cm thick. How can you integrate so many devices? Under the guidance of Lu Haifeng, an associate professor of the electrical system, the friends began to overcome difficulties. They spent more than two hundred dollars to buy three different styles of bicycle locks, dismantled and figured out the structure inside, and then broke each.

To achieve bicycle anti-theft, it is necessary to prevent the car lock from being mechanically damaged, and to prevent the car from being removed as a whole. Therefore, the car lock should be equipped with a vibration sensor and a positioning system. With so many features running smoothly, system integration is also required. The six people in the team have a division of labor. Some people are responsible for programming and developing mobile APP software. Some people are responsible for designing the vibration sensor. Zhu Yicheng’s task is to be responsible for the integration and debugging of the GPS positioning function. They set up their own experimental platform in the bedroom, and several bicycle locks were removed and installed.

A smart car lock costs only 125 yuan

Zhu Yicheng demonstrated to the reporter the use of smart car locks. When users need to use public rental bicycles, just open the mobile APP software and find the public rental bicycles that can be used around them in the mobile phone map.

When the user finds a public rental bicycle that can be used, the mobile phone APP can scan the two-dimensional code above the lock to realize the pairing of the mobile phone and the lock. Click the "unlock" option, the car lock will automatically open, the bicycle rental will be completed; the bicycle is tired and wants to stop, it is not difficult. Users only need to click the “lock car” button to lock the car with one button; when they arrive at the destination, they can return the car. You don’t need to park the car in the fixed lock pile. Just click and confirm the use after locking the car. Return the car. At the same time, the resources of this car are released, and the information has appeared in the ranks of the vehicles to be rented on the map for other users to continue to use.

The previously mentioned theft problem has finally been solved very well. The shock sensor in the lock can identify the destructive behaviors such as shackles and saw locks, and monitor the safety of public rental bicycles in real time. Once the lock is detected, the vibration is destroyed. You can send a text message to the user's mobile phone, and the APP software will automatically pop up an alarm prompt.

The current car rental system has high construction and maintenance costs, and the average cost per vehicle is as high as 7,000 yuan. The price of a smart car lock is only about 125 yuan. It can be seen that replacing the fixed lock car with a smart car lock can significantly reduce the public rent. Bicycle rental system construction costs.

Zhu Yicheng said that the team members are ready to raise or collect a batch of campus bicycles on the Tsinghua campus, or renovate the unclaimed "zombie car" and install the smart car lock to better serve the teachers and students of Tsinghua University.
