A few days ago, Yunnan Power Grid Company made a major breakthrough in hydrogen energy technology research. The project "Research and Demonstration of Hydrogen Energy Storage to Promote Renewable Energy Consumption, Utilization, and Equipment Technology" declared by the company won a major scientific and technological project in Yunnan Province. This project is the first provincial-level major science and technology project hosted by Yunnan Power Grid Corporation as a leading unit, and the largest single-source provincial major project hosted by the company over the years.
It is reported that the project is based on the green energy strategy of Yunnan Province and belongs to the energy conservation, environmental protection and new energy directions in the key areas of science and technology in Yunnan Province. The Electric Power Research Institute of Yunnan Power Grid Company began to study hydrogen energy technology in 2015, formulated the 2030 Green Hydrogen Energy Development Plan and Action Plan of Yunnan Province, and established a complete system of hydrogen production-hydrogen storage-hydrogen use laboratory. During the process, major breakthroughs were made in a series of technologies such as efficient hydrogen production, safe hydrogen storage, and hydrogen energy standard systems. This project won a major scientific and technological project in Yunnan Province, which is another important breakthrough made by Yunnan Power Grid Company in hydrogen energy research, and is also the affirmation of Yunnan Power Grid Company's hydrogen energy research technology strength over the years. The project revolves around the Yunnan green energy strategy, using hydrogen energy storage and comprehensive utilization technology routes, and carrying out medium-scale hydropower consumption and hydrogen energy utilization project demonstrations. It is carried out on the basis of the preliminary "small trial" of the Yunnan Electric Power Grid Corporation Electric Power Research Institute. Enlarge the "Pilot" demonstration project, equipped with organic liquid hydrogen filling station, organic liquid hydrogen fuel bus and HCNG combustion and other hydrogen energy technology research. After the completion of the project, it will lay a solid technical foundation for the large-scale implementation of organic liquid hydrogen energy storage engineering applications, HCNG combustion and organic liquid fuel cell buses and other comprehensive hydrogen energy utilization in Yunnan, and will provide surplus renewable energy conversion and hydropower consumption in Yunnan Province. The technical economic evaluation of hydrogen energy utilization and the creation of a hydrogen energy industry chain provide important decision-making support and help promote the development of the "green energy brand" development strategy in Yunnan Province.
