How to choose flame retardant protective clothing

1. A test report shall be obtained from the supplier to check the product characteristics, production batches, production date, and pasting cloth samples in the test report (which shall be consistent with the products provided) and sample the samples from the supplier for future reference. To verify its quality, it mainly consists of five steps: checking, seeing, touching, sniffing, and testing.
Check : Check the internal and external packaging of flame-retardant protective clothing, and whether the trademark marks and the special labor protection articles' Safety Signs are complete and correct, and whether there are instructions for washing, maintenance, and maintenance.
Look : Look at the appearance of flame retardant protective clothing, there should be no surface defects, breakage and stitching defects. Flame-retardant protective clothing structure should be three tight neck, cuffs, hem, to avoid hot objects or spark splashes, harm the human body. Bright coat pockets should be worn to avoid splashing metal or sparks. Ventilation holes that are left for heat dissipation should be on the inside of the armpit, back, and ankle to prevent external foreign matter from entering.
Touch : Flame retardant protective clothing with better quality feels softer and does not irritate the skin.
Sniffing : Some unqualified flame retardants have certain toxicity and have a certain pungent odor. Take the flame retardant protective clothing out of the bag and smell it. There should be no odor or irritating odor.
Test : The flame-retardant protective clothing bags and decorations should not affect the normal work; the second try to wear off is convenient and fast, should be able to quickly detach.

2. Combustion suits are classified into three grades: A, B, and C depending on the place of use. When selecting flame-retardant protective clothing, different grades can be selected depending on the location.
Class A: Suitable for applications where there is an open flame, emit sparks, operate near molten metal, radiant heat, and convection heat.
Class B: Applicable to places where there is an open fire, sparks, flammable substances and a fire hazard.
Class C: Applicable to casual wearers who do not use long-term flame-retardant protective clothing in locations where there are flammable substances and spark hazards.

3, flame retardant protective clothing can be divided into A, B, C three grades according to the fabric, in the selection should be based on the need to pay attention to the following five criteria:
(1) Number of washings: 50 for Class A, B, and 12 for Class C.
(2) Thermal protection coefficient (kWs/m2): only in Class A flame retardant protective clothing, skin contact ≥126kWs/m2, the gap between skin and clothing≥250kWs/m2.
(3) Continuing burning time and ignition time: A grade, B grade ≤ 2 s; C grade ≤ 5 s.
(4) Damage length: A grade ≤ 50mm, B grade ≤ 100mm, C grade ≤ 150mm.
(5) Melting, dripping: Not allowed.

4. When selecting flame retardant protective clothing, attention should be paid to the following items on accessories, accessories and interlinings:
a, buckles, hooks, zippers should be easy to connect and release, its material is easy to melt, flammable, easily deformed material can not be selected.
b. If the metal parts are not in direct contact with the body, the rubber band materials and the covering materials are flame-retardant materials, and the lining material is not melted.
c. When flame retardant protective clothing with reflective tape and other ingredients is selected, the ingredients must be flame-retardant materials, and the retroreflection coefficient of the reflective tape must meet the requirements of Class 2 or higher light-emitting materials specified in GB20653-2006, and its flame retardant performance Meet the relevant requirements.
5. When selecting flame retardant protective clothing, pay attention to the structure of the clothing:
a. The open pocket must have a flap, and the flap length should be greater than 2cm.
b. The length of the jacket should cover more than 20cm above the trousers. The cuffs, leg openings and collar should be closed and should be easily worn.
c. Pockets on both sides of the trousers must not be used with diagonal pockets. Avoid provinces and downcasts in order to prevent molten metal or sparks from splashing into or accumulating them.
