The School of Materials Science and Engineering held the "Challenge Cup" mock contest

On the afternoon of March 18th, the School of Materials Science and Engineering hosted a mock contest for the "Challenge Cup" competition, aiming to enhance students' scientific and technological innovation capabilities and foster their entrepreneurial spirit. The event took place in Conference Room 31447, where students showcased their business plans and project ideas in a real-like competition environment. Dean Zou Wenjun, along with Party Committee Secretary Wang Liang, Deputy Secretary Ma Wugang, and various faculty advisors, served as judges. A total of nine teams participated, covering diverse fields such as materials science, medical technology, automotive engineering, and environmental protection. Each team presented their innovative concepts through well-structured PPTs, highlighting aspects like company culture, product development, marketing strategies, and financial planning. During the Q&A session, the judges asked in-depth questions about the technical feasibility, market potential, financial sustainability, and team composition of each project. Students responded confidently, demonstrating not only their creativity but also their ability to think critically and communicate effectively. The interaction between students and judges was lively and constructive, with many valuable suggestions offered for improvement. Dean Zou Wenjun provided professional feedback on each team’s idea, emphasizing the importance of specialization, standardization, and market research. He encouraged students to refine their projects, focus on product testing, and continuously improve their work. His guidance helped students gain a clearer direction for future development. Party Committee Secretary Wang Liang highlighted the significance of participating in the "Challenge Cup" competition, noting that it helps students develop critical thinking, creativity, and hands-on skills. She urged the participants to embrace a bold and risk-taking mindset, while maintaining a practical and cooperative attitude.
