China's rise in shale gas development boom

At the 4th China (Taiyuan) International Energy Industry Expo held recently in Taiyuan, shale gas has become a hot topic. The reporter learned from the interview that the Shanxi provincial government and enterprises are studying and formulating specific measures to accelerate the pace of shale gas development. Shanxi is a microcosm of the current shale gas development boom across China. In March of this year, China issued the "Shale Gas Development Plan (2011-2015)" (hereinafter referred to as "Planning"). According to the "Planning", in 2015 China will find shale gas geological reserves of 600 billion cubic meters, recoverable reserves of 200 billion cubic meters, and the production planning target is 6.5 billion cubic meters; looking forward to 2020, China's shale gas production is expected to reach 100 billion cubic meters. The “Planning” listed Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei, Yunnan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, Shaanxi, Henan, Liaoning, Xinjiang and other provinces as the focus of shale gas exploration and development, Shanxi is not listed. However, the professor of China University of Petroleum , South Korea, believes that the shale gas reserves and recoverable quantities in Shanxi Province, although not very rich, have high mining value. According to the research project of the shale gas in Shanxi Province by China University of Petroleum and Shanxi Guoxin Energy Development Group Co., Ltd., the Ordos Basin and the Qinshui Basin in Shanxi Province all have shale gas occurrence characteristics. Relevant indicators such as shale thickness, organic carbon content, organic maturity, and shale brittleness in these areas are in line with the conditions for large-scale mining. Li Yongping, deputy director of the Shanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission, said that the development and utilization of shale gas requires multi-party coordination and efforts. Planning, guidance and management at the government level are indispensable. The Shanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission will set up a shale gas development leading group as soon as possible to start related work. As a new type of clean low-carbon energy and new prospects and new industries with promising prospects, the important strategic significance of shale gas has received more and more attention from all over China in recent years. Especially after the shale gas 12th Five-Year Plan was released from the national level, the shale gas development boom in various regions continued to rise. For example, only six state-owned enterprises participated in the first round of bidding for shale gas last year. In the second round of intention survey conducted in May this year, more than 70 units participated in the country, of which private enterprises accounted for 1/3 of shale gas. The development heat continues to heat up. In addition, Guizhou has accelerated the exploration and development of shale gas this year. In March, China's first super-kilometre shale gas strategic investigation well "Guizhou Zhangzh-1" fracturing project was started in Qigong County, and the test gas ignition was realized on April 28. In August, the Guizhou Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Exploration and Development and IDG Capital Investment Consultant (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Jinshiqi International Holdings Co., Ltd. reached a cooperation framework agreement to jointly explore the development of new energy minerals such as shale gas in Guizhou Province. Chongqing is also eye-catching. Chongqing is working on relevant policies and measures to encourage shale gas exploration and development and comprehensive utilization, and proposes to fight 150-200 shale gas wells during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period. The annual output of shale gas is 1.3 billion to 1,500 million cubic meters. It has become the main battlefield for the comprehensive development and utilization of shale gas in the country. Despite the long-term optimism, the current shale gas exploration and development boom has also raised some concerns. Some industry experts believe that under the current situation of unclear resource resources, immature core technologies, and unclear business prospects, this boom does not rule out the "bubble" component of follow-up and speculation.

It is made of pure PTFE, can be widely used in the transport and sealing of industrial fluids. It is the most cost-effective alternative to sheet gasketing for large equipment flanges. Because it is a form-in-place gasket, so it nearly can be used in any sealing surface. Especially for the irregularities and damaged flange surface, expanded PTFE tape is the best choice.
