**Sampling and Inspection of New Bearing Bushes**
When installing new bearing bushes, it is essential to check the thickness difference between them and measure the free opening dimensions. The outer surface quality should also be visually inspected. For old bearing bushes that are in good condition, they should be cleaned and tested before being reinstalled in their original positions, along with the original crankshaft and bearing bush. This ensures proper equipment utilization and performance.
**Maintaining Cleanliness During Assembly**
Ensuring cleanliness during diesel engine assembly is crucial. All parts must be thoroughly cleaned, and the working environment should be kept dust-free. Cylinder liner dust covers can be made to improve hygiene. These steps contribute to a more efficient and cleaner assembly process.
**Selecting and Filling Lubricating Oil Properly**
Choose lubricants with low oil film surface tension to reduce bubble formation and minimize oil flow impact. It is important to avoid mixing different types or viscosity grades of oil. Before starting the engine, allow the lubricant to settle for at least 48 hours to ensure proper distribution.
**Correct Usage and Protection of the Engine**
When installing the engine bearings, apply a thin layer of clean oil on the shaft and bearing surfaces. Before the initial start-up, close the fuel switch and let the engine idle several times until the oil pressure stabilizes. Then, turn on the fuel switch and set the throttle to a medium or low speed. The idling time should not exceed 5 minutes. After the running-in period, avoid sudden load increases or high-speed operation. When fully loaded, do not stop the engine immediately—let it run at no-load, medium speed for 15 minutes to dissipate heat properly.
**Controlling Starting Temperature and Oil Supply**
In winter, strictly control the engine’s starting temperature and extend the oil supply time to ensure proper lubrication. This helps reduce the risk of bearing damage due to cold starts. Replace the oil filter when the pressure difference across it reaches 0.8 MPa to maintain effective filtration and reduce impurities in the oil.
**Sanitation and Maintenance of Oil Filter and Ventilation System**
Regularly clean and maintain the oil filter and crankcase ventilation system. Replace filter elements according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure the cooling system operates correctly, keep the engine temperature within normal limits, and prevent radiator boiling. Never drive without coolant, and use the correct type of fuel. Adjust the timing and combustion precisely to avoid abnormal burning.
**Oil Spectrometry Analysis**
Conduct regular oil spectrometry analysis to detect early signs of wear. By analyzing the iron spectrum, you can identify the composition of abrasive particles and locate the source of wear. This proactive approach helps prevent bearing burnout and extends the engine’s lifespan.
