North China Land Block Diamond Prospecting Symposium held in Linyi

Recently, the North China Block Area diamond prospecting work deployment and site inspection seminar was successfully held in Linyi City, Shandong Province. The event brought together key figures from various geological institutions and government departments to discuss and advance diamond exploration efforts in the region. Xue Yingxi, director of the Resource Evaluation Department at the China Geological Survey, delivered a keynote speech at the meeting. Jin Ruoshi, director of the Tianjin Geological Survey Center, and Wang Guipeng, deputy director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Land and Resources, were also present. The primary goal of the meeting was to enhance coordination and knowledge sharing among participants, aiming to refine the direction of diamond exploration in the North China Block. Discussions focused on developing a comprehensive work deployment plan for future diamond prospecting activities, with an emphasis on technological innovation and field implementation. Representatives from the Shandong Geological Survey Institute, the Seventh Geological Mineral Exploration Institute of Shandong, the Sixth Geological Team of Liaoning, and the China Land and Resources Aviation Remote Sensing Center shared updates on their ongoing projects, including progress in aviation geophysical methods and next-step strategies. The meeting emphasized the importance of accelerating diamond exploration as a critical component of mineral resource development. It called for the China Geological Survey to strengthen its foundational role in public welfare geology, invest more in scientific research, and address key technical challenges that hinder exploration. Increased efforts in anomaly verification and mineral exploration were encouraged to identify new potential areas and establish backup resources for future development. A national diamond prospecting program is expected to guide these efforts and drive significant breakthroughs in the field. Notably, recent advancements in diamond exploration in North China have been particularly impressive, especially in Shandong Province. Through the "Shandong Province Diamond Mine Resource Potential Evaluation" project, the province has identified 28 potential diamond exploration areas and 11 predicted zones, with estimated diamond resources exceeding 1.6 million carats. These findings represent a major milestone and offer valuable insights for future exploration initiatives across the region. Over 50 experts from nearly 20 organizations, including the China Geological Survey, the Tianjin, Shenyang, Nanjing, and Wuhan Geological Survey Centers, the China Land and Resources Aviation Remote Sensing Center, provincial geological survey bureaus, and local land and resources departments, participated in the event. The meeting was hosted by the Tianjin Geological Survey Center and organized jointly by the Shandong Geological Survey Institute and the Seventh Geological and Mineral Exploration Institute of Shandong Province. During the event, attendees visited the Jinbei Liyan Pipe Group and the Changmazhuang Diamond Mine in Mengyin County, Shandong, gaining firsthand insights into ongoing exploration and mining operations. This field trip provided a practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities in diamond prospecting, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and innovation in the industry.
