Recently, the North China Block Area diamond exploration work deployment and on-site inspection seminar was successfully held in Linyi City, Shandong Province. The event brought together key figures from various geological institutions and government departments to discuss strategies for advancing diamond exploration in the region. Xue Yingxi, Director of the Resource Evaluation Department at the China Geological Survey, delivered a keynote speech at the meeting. Jin Ruoshi, Director of the Tianjin Geological Survey Center, and Wang Guipeng, Deputy Director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Land and Resources, also attended the gathering.
The primary objective of the meeting was to enhance the direction and coordination of diamond exploration efforts in the North China Block through knowledge exchange and collaborative planning. Participants discussed the preparation of the diamond exploration work deployment plan and explored ways to achieve significant breakthroughs in future exploration activities. Representatives from the Shandong Geological Survey Institute, the Seventh Geological Mineral Exploration Institute of Shandong, the Sixth Geological Team of Liaoning, and the China Land and Resources Aviation Remote Sensing Center shared their progress, future plans, and the use of aviation geophysical methods in diamond exploration.
The meeting emphasized the importance of accelerating diamond exploration as a core task in mineral resource development. The China Geological Survey was urged to leverage its public welfare role, strengthen the foundation for diamond exploration, and promote scientific research and technological support. Efforts should focus on solving complex geological challenges and developing key technologies that hinder exploration. Increased emphasis should be placed on anomaly verification and mineral exploration to establish new potential bases for further development. Through the formulation of a national diamond exploration program, the country aims to guide regional exploration efforts and strive for meaningful progress in this field.
In recent years, diamond exploration in the North China region has made notable achievements, especially in Shandong Province. Leveraging the "Shandong Province Diamond Mine Resource Potential Evaluation" project, the province has identified 28 diamond potential areas and 11 predicted zones, with an estimated diamond resource of over 1.6 million carats. These findings hold significant value for future exploration initiatives in the region.
More than 50 experts from nearly 20 institutions, including the China Geological Survey, the Tianjin, Shenyang, Nanjing, and Wuhan Geological Survey Centers, the China Land and Resources Aviation Remote Sensing Center, provincial geological survey bureaus, and local land and resources departments, participated in the event. The meeting was organized by the Tianjin Geological Survey Center, the Shandong Geological Survey Institute, and the Seventh Geological and Mineral Exploration Institute of Shandong Province.
During the conference, participants visited the Jinbei Liyan Pipe Group and the Changmazhuang Diamond Mine in Mengyin County, Shandong, gaining firsthand insights into ongoing exploration projects and operational practices. This visit provided valuable opportunities for discussion and collaboration among professionals in the field.
