"It is strictly prohibited to open or close a train’s valve or cover without authorization, or to tamper with its sealed condition." In one of the images, a man is attempting to open the door of a freight car in a railway yard using pliers. The image is striking and eye-catching, making it easy for people to remember and understand.
Recently, the Nanming South Depot's Maoming workshop gave its shift room a fresh new look by adding a series of comic-style posters on the walls. These vivid illustrations are actually part of the "Railway Safety Management Regulations" campaign, designed to raise awareness and promote safe behavior among workers.
The workshop has always prioritized safety in production, regularly conducting training sessions and team-based safety analysis meetings. They also implemented a “one-to-one mentorship†system to reinforce safety practices. However, over time, many employees began to view these safety briefings as routine and unengaging, often forgetting the key points and failing to internalize the importance of safety protocols.
To address this challenge and improve the effectiveness of safety education—making it more engaging and memorable—the workshop introduced a set of illustrated safety posters. Using simple language and a manga-style format, these visuals help employees better understand and retain critical railway safety rules. The new approach not only caught attention but also significantly improved knowledge retention and safety awareness among the staff.
"This visual method makes safety messages much clearer and easier to remember," said Conway, a new employee who found the comics both informative and engaging. He added that he now pays more attention to safety details after seeing the illustrations.

KONE UltraRope
In June 2013 the company launched a new high-rise elevator technology, called 'KONE UltraRope', which enables future elevator travel heights of 1 kilometre. The product is light due to its carbon fibre core and a high-friction coating. Because of these qualities, elevator energy consumption in high-rise buildings can be cut significantly.
KONE EcoDisc motor
The 'KONE EcoDisc motor', used for hoisting, reduces the amount of energy lost as heat. The motor control system and brakes make the elevator ride quiet and the design frees up space.
Elevators
The 'KONE MonoSpace' for low- to mid-rise buildings is the world`s first machine-room-less elevator. The 'KONE EcoSpace' elevator is a machine-room-less traction elevator designed for low-rise buildings from 2 to 15 stories as an energy-efficient alternative to hydraulic elevators, and can fit in an existing hydraulic elevator hoistway. It is produced in a 150 feet per minute (0.76 m/s) speed, 200 feet per minute (1.0 m/s) and 350 feet per minute (1.8 m/s) variants. The 'KONE MiniSpace' elevator with a small machine room is often used in high-rise buildings.
