Ren Xudong, executive vice president of China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, said that since the beginning of this year, global PV demand growth has driven a significant increase in polysilicon consumption. In the first half of the year, China's crystalline silicon battery production was 18GW, up 59.3% year-on-year, and domestic polysilicon consumption rose to 100,000 tons. Around the same time, an increase of 44.9%. The growth of polysilicon consumption was transmitted to the upstream, driving industrial silicon consumption. The domestic consumption in the first half of the year reached 360,000 tons, an increase of 20.3%.

According to Ren Xudong, the operating rate of major polysilicon producers in China has increased significantly this year. In the first half of the year, the effective utilization rate of polysilicon reached 86%, up 59% year-on-year; the output reached 65,000 tons, up 100% year-on-year. With the increase in market demand, the price of silicon products in the domestic market has rebounded.

According to the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, the average price of domestic polysilicon in the first half of the year was 161,000 yuan/ton, up 23% year-on-year; the average price of 553 industrial silicon was 12474 yuan/ton, up 9.3% year-on-year; the average price of 441 industrial silicon was 13293 yuan. / ton, up 10.6% year-on-year.

At present, the profitability of most companies in China's silicon industry has improved. In the first half of the year, China's polysilicon industry realized a profit of 600 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 208%; industrial silicon realized a profit of 630 million yuan, an increase of 18.7%.
