Maintenance method of solid wood furniture

Solid wood furniture has long been the first choice for consumers to purchase furniture in the building materials market because of its natural and original beauty. However, as time goes by, your furniture is not as good as it was, and creeping up with "wrinkles"? Don't worry, the following small series for everyone to organize solid wood furniture maintenance methods.

First, dust removal

Always remove dust, because dust rubs the surface of solid wood furniture every day. It is best to use a clean soft cotton cloth, such as an old white T-shirt or baby cotton. Remember not to wipe your furniture with a sponge or tableware. When dusting, use cotton cloth that has been wrung out after wetting, because the wet cotton cloth can reduce friction and avoid scratching the furniture. It also helps to reduce the adsorption of dust by static electricity, which is good for removing dust from the furniture surface. However, water vapor should be avoided on the surface of the furniture. It is recommended to wipe it again with a dry cotton cloth.

Second, clean

In order to remove the traces of the furniture surface caused by airborne contaminants, cooking fumes, smudges during handling, and residues from glazing, we recommend the use of special furniture cleaners. This solvent can also help remove excess wax.

Third, waxing

Regular waxing, every 3 months, a layer of wax on the furniture. Before using the glazing wax in the furniture, check if the surface of the lacquer is intact. For newer solid wood furniture, first wipe the surface with a fine cotton cloth. For stains that have been left for too long or difficult to remove, use a cotton cloth with a small amount of gasoline or alcohol. Then use a small piece of cotton cloth to spread a large amount of glazing wax, and then use a larger dry cloth to wipe the wax evenly in a circular block. Before waxing, use a milder non-alkaline soapy water. The old wax is wiped off, and the waxing is not too dense, otherwise it will block the pores of the wood. Excessive waxing can also damage the appearance of the coating. American solid wood furniture is simple, natural and dignified, but it may be deformed or cracked due to changes in wood moisture content, so it is especially necessary to take care, especially in this hot summer. For example, the sun can not be directly exposed for a long time, not too cold or hot, too dry and humid environment is not suitable for solid wood furniture. If the temperature and humidity change is too large due to frequent switching of the air conditioner, even the qualified solid wood furniture products sometimes undergo deformation and cracking.

Fourth, daily care

Avoid letting the sun shine on the surface of the furniture for a long time, or it is easy to make the internal moisture of the wood unbalanced and cause cracks; in the dry environment in autumn and winter, artificial humidification measures should be used regularly to supplement the excessive loss of water, such as using soft Wipe the furniture after wet cloth; keep good humidity, ideal humidity is about 40%, if you use cold air for a long time, you can put water on the side. The temperature difference should not be too large, avoiding the air conditioner opening and closing, causing the temperature to change drastically; the overheated items should be avoided directly on the furniture surface, which will damage the protective paint and wax on the furniture surface.
