Proper daily care for Boston fern involves several key considerations to ensure healthy growth and vibrant foliage.

1. Watering and Fertilizing: Boston fern thrives in consistently moist soil, especially during the growing season. It's important to water regularly to prevent the soil from drying out completely, as this can cause lower leaves to yellow and drop. However, overwatering should also be avoided to prevent root rot. A balanced, water-soluble fertilizer such as 20-20-20 or a mix of calcium nitrate and potassium nitrate is recommended during the growing period to support strong development.

2. Temperature Control: The ideal temperature range for Boston fern is between 18°C and 35°C. If temperatures go above 35°C or below 15°C, the plant may struggle to grow. In winter, it's crucial to keep the temperature above 5°C. If heating equipment isn't available, you can use double insulation or cover the plant in the afternoon when temperatures drop to around 22–24°C. During summer, cooling methods like exhaust fans or water curtains are beneficial. If not available, increase shade and ventilation during midday, and mist the plant and surrounding area to help cool it down. Avoid long-term greenhouse setups; instead, use a single-roof structure for better air circulation.

3. Humidity Management: Boston fern prefers high humidity levels—ideally between 75% and 80%. Dry conditions can lead to brown leaf edges or even complete leaf yellowing. Regular misting of the plant and its environment helps maintain the necessary moisture. Ensure good air circulation to avoid fungal issues while maintaining humidity.

4. Light Requirements: Boston fern prefers bright, indirect light rather than direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and cause curling. After planting, adjust the light intensity based on the growth stage: 2000–3000 Lux for the first 15 days, 3000–4000 Lux for the first month, 5000–6000 Lux for the second month, and 7000–8000 Lux thereafter. In winter, you can increase the light to 10000–15000 Lux if needed. Too much light can damage the plant, causing burnt or curled leaves and stunted growth.
